PTGMAP
current version: 1.2.9
|
PTGMAP is a simple software designed for GPS navigation
with garmin and polish format vector maps on Pocket PC devices equipped
with GPS receiver. It can also be used for editing map objects such as
points, polygons, polylines, address items, waypoints, tracks, routes
and others.
Some features:
- Auto Moving / Rotating Map
- Streets and POIs Finder
- Creating and Editing Waypoints and Routes
- Tracks Recording
- Saving Tracks, Waypoints, Routes in *.gdb, *.mps and *.gpx Format
- Creating and Editing Map Objects and AutoRouting Data
- Calibrating Raster Images
- Saving Maps in Polish and OziExplorer Format
- Convenient File Browser
- Night View
PTGMAP is now a freeware for everybody who creates their own
maps in garmin format and provides them for free on a webpage.
What's new?
16.11.2008 : build 1.2.9
Added:
- Support for NT-format maps (non-locked).
- Support for importing/exporting GPX files.
- Functionality of loading multiple files from a folder at startup (eg. maps, tracks, waypoints).
To set the folder name go to Menu->Options->I/O
- Updated atltool
Due to technical reasons the software activation system has been changed thus the unlock codes to version 1.2.8
are not valid for this version. The map developers who got their free codes and the users who registered the software
in 2008 should send an email to request for a new code without re-registration.
7.05.2008 : build 1.2.8
Added:
- Desktop tool for convinient creating atlas files, available in download section.
- Support for large gmapsupp.img files (atlas mode, non-NT maps).
- Polish version of the project webpage prepared by doktorski.
- Several minor things
Improved:
- General
20.04.2007 : build 1.2.7
Added:
- In-field calibrating raster images (gif,png,jpg,bmp), Two-points and Four-points calibration
(Menu->File->Calibrate Raster), see Manual section for description.
- Map auto-zoom according to the current speed (Menu->Options->General->Auto Zoom), firstly one need
to adjust zoom range i.e. minimum scale / maximum scale (Menu->Options->Navi), the scale will be
increased or decreased progressively as a function of speed.
- Translation to Czech language performed by Petr Bitnar.
- Posibility of changing position-mark color (Menu->Options->View)
- German Mini-Howto by Thomas Hasse: Available Here
Improved:
- Atlas can be created from gmapsupp.img file (non-NT), this is however experimental option, only
small files can be used.
Fixed:
- Turning restrictions ticks disappear when reopening node properties dialogbox.
29.01.2007
Happy New Year! It's been some time since last update, major work has been done to achieve some
progress in coding autorouting functionality for .img files though it's yet too early to say
wheter that work will be finalized or not. At the same time other works have been also done to improve
the software:
29.01.2007 : build 1.2.6
Added:
- Azimuth navigation. Tap and hold on the screen (in drag-map mode) at the destination point,
select "Azimuth Navigation" option. If GPS is active, a straight line will be drawn
from your current location to the destination point.
Improved:
- Larger raster maps can be opened.
Fixed:
- Under some circumstances map motion stops when navigating.
- Atlas Mode: small memory leaks.
20.10.2006 : build 1.2.5
Added:
- Support for some kinds of commercial maps. Notice: such maps may be protected
by copyright law and may be subject to differnet terms and conditions of use provided by
licensor/manufacturer and some other national laws. The author is not responsible for
any misuse of this software.
- Options: "Remember Last Position" - after quiting the program last position on the map
and zoom level will be remembered, "Sounds" - when GPS fix is acquired or lost appropriate
beep sound will be emitted (Menu->Options->General)
Improved:
- Atlas Mode: Global search speed cranked up some more.
- Atlas Mode: Additional info about POIs (street number, street name, city, region, phone number, zip code).
- New color scheme for roads
- Atl format
Fixed:
- Option "Keep BackLight On" not working correctly on some devices.
20.09.2006 : build 1.2.4
Improved:
- Atlas Mode: major part of the code has been altered, the engine uses up less memory for
displaying map tiles, loads maps faster, allows big maps. Virtually there is no hard limit set
on the files size which one can display in atlas mode, however creating atlas .atl file requires
certain amount of memory for sorting purposes. This may be worked around in the future when an external
tool for creating .atl files might be released ( or desktop version of ptgmap ).
- Atlas Mode: faster indexing maps and creating .atl file, better performance of global searching option,
.atl format has been modified ( still .atl files are about 50% bigger than they could be, without loosing efficiency ).
10.08.2006 : build 1.2.3
Added:
- Functionality of editing routing data. To see routing graph nodes check the option:
Menu->Options->Edit->Show routing graph nodes. Editing routing nodes is enabled by
tap&hold stylus operation.
- Autorouting. Finding shortest/quickest path is made possible for .mp files only
(with routing data), this is still experimental version and it will work very slowly for big maps,
the reason behind the low performance of the procedure is reading the data and building the whole
routing graph from scratch each time the option is initiated (in order to take into
account possible changes in map structure). The procedure is hopefully aware of turning
restrictions and one-way streets.
Improved:
- Simply tap with your stylus on a route to find out how long the route is.
This information is given in the baloon pop-up.
- Tap and hold on the screen (in drag-map mode) to enable additional pop-up menu,
this menu will be used mainly for autorouting purposes. Currently if the opened file is
not an .mp file the menu will show only "Clear Routes" option.
